Learn to ruffle

Who doesn't love ruffles?
For those of us sewing-types who are in love with the romantic embellishment, burdastyle has two lovely tutorials.

Urban Outfitters Under 5

I simply must share with you this 'last chance: $5 or under' sale over at Urban Outfitters.

Hopefully

Hopefully I find time tonight to make a journal using this wonderful tutorioal. If not, I hope you do.

Yesyes

I just lost the link to the collection that this dress is a very lovely part of. Now I can only show you one photo and can't link back. How very sorry I am.

Nice

A romantic light shade from Catlin's etsy shop, nice.

Robot/People Art

Could a human-like object traverse sidewalks and streets along with us, and in so doing, create a narrative about our relationship to space and our willingness to interact with what we find in it? More importantly, how could our actions be seen within a larger context of human connection that emerges from the complexity of the city itself?

These are the questions Kacie Kisner asked. She answered them by building a robot.
Read more about Kacie's tweenbots project here. For now, watch this adorable video.

Uninspired

I needed this card last week. It reads "Not so inspired lately, lets get together and see what happens." Any creative friends of mine interested?

Garden Party

This post at dress design decor has me wanting to host a little english-countryside-style garden party of my own. Image from here.

**Edit: My garden party will definitely have French Macarons and pretty cakes, all topped with rose petals and dusted with icing sugar.

Invite

On the subject of weddings, I love the idea behind this photobooth wedding invitation. I found it over at iDiY which shares some really cute do-it-yourself wedding ideas. If you're looking for instructions, Meg also made some a while ago over at Threadbanger in her DIY Weddings episode.

Flower Diamantes

I know I'm nowhere near to getting married soon, but when I do will someone please remind me of these pretty flower diamantes? I know they're probably not ground-breakingly new, but I was intrigued by the way they catch the light in the first photograph. Photos from Chelsea Anne Photography.

Trace Face

I love these silhouette doily prints from tracemyface on Etsy.
Found via Nest, which offers all readers free shipping from the tracemyface shop.

Le Love

I'm going to perform a bit of blatant blogging plagiarism here and simply post my recent favourites from over at Le Love. Sorry, but this is what it has come to. (i.e. I'm very lazy.)
I couldn't decide which of these photos to pick, so I posted them both even though they don't really match. One. Two.
I came across this video a while ago and thought it was lovely.
This is another video that is equally cute, if not, cuter.
And I'll finish it off with a poem/song lyrics/I'm not really sure. I read this in my head to the tune and voice of Kate Nash's video (the equally cute one).

Pour La Victorie

Aren't they pretty? Urban Outfitters.

Twilightard

I have to learn to draw like this. Isn't it amazing? Artwork by BlueAngel271183 on Deviant Art. I had to pick this as my favourite because, I must confess, I am a little bit of a Twilight book fan (Or Twilitard, as some say.) Click here and go to full view on the left hand side to see it in it's full-sized glory.

Hanimex Reflex Flash

This is my new (to me) camera which I bought from an op-shop for $5. I mentioned it briefly before, letting you all know how excited I am that I found it with a half used roll of film inside. I've got about 2 exposures left so hopefully I'll be showing you the prints soon. This is what is going to last me until I can afford a new DSLR; scoff if you will, but I absolutely love it.

Magazine

From here.

Pretty

Still feeling a little un-inspired but this weather index is rather lovely. Above is the weather for Melbourne today displayed rether dashingly. There is also pretty music playing from my laptop but I'm not sure where it's coming from. It makes me smile a little more. Image below from here.

I don't like anything.

I'm in one of those terrible 'I don't like anything' moods at the moment so expect a lag in posts for a while. I do, however, like this photograph by Jen Ardell. I remember falling in love with this bike (or similar from electra, definitely with the fenders) then realising there was no way I could get one for under $2000. I nearly cried.
